Ocean Meadows Golf Club first opened for play in 1963. The course was designed by Harry and David Rainville.
Ocean Meadows, a regulation 9-hole course, located between UCSB and the Calle Real Marketplace. The course is surroundedby numerous trees and cut by Devereaux Creek, which drains into the Goleta Slough. While Golfing you can see herons, egrets, geese, hawks as well as numerous other birds.
Par for the course is 36. From the back tees the course plays to 3,196 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 2,657 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 9, a par-5 that plays to 509 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 2, a par-3 that plays to 196 yards from the back tees

The course closed March 24, 2013 after having been open for 50 years. It was purchased by The Trust for Public Land in conjunction with the California State Coastal Conservancy and the University of California at Santa Barbara in order to return it to its natural wetland state.

Greens are better than usual for this place and fairways aren't too soggy right now. The rough is hardly there and the fairways could be better.
